Prototype contact lens could one day bring augmented reality to your eyeballs

Tech startup Mojo Vision showed off an early prototype of its contact lens display behind closed doors at CES 2020 last week. The company says it’ll be several years until its product is close to being ready, with current iterations requiring an external battery. In the future, though, it believes the technology could aid the vision impaired or even power augmented reality experiences.

Imagine being a teacher having to contend with teenagers wearing smart lenses. You will have to wonder if they are listening to you or watching TikTok, or worse.

I, for one, want something similar to the augmented reality systems of Daniel Suarez's Daemon series, or Charles Stross's Halting State. Augmented reality showing you the name of the person you are talking to super-imposed over them would be VERY useful. Seeing the credit score or debt level of people would be even better. :D
