International powers call for cease-fire in Libya’s civil war

An arms embargo and a draft plan to work toward a lasting ceasefire to end Libya’s years-long civil war has been agreed on in Berlin peace talks. German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that the participants would continue to hold regular meetings to ensure the process continues. The meeting was attended by leaders from 12 countries as well as the UN, EU, the African Union and the Arab League.

I guess Libyan leaders could have picked worse places to have help unfuck their country. France comes to mind, but getting advice from any country in the EU seems like a bad call.

Let one of the sides win and give them a chance to run the country. Honestly neither of the two sides is all that appealing but the one that is strong enough to win has a better chance of stabilizing the country. This is a case where less interference would be the preferred option.
