At least 75 inmates escape from Paraguayan prison near Brazil border

At least 75 inmates, most of them belonging to a Brazilian gang, escaped from a Paraguayan prison Sunday by digging up a tunnel. Investigators found 200 bags of soil from the cells of the inmates suggesting the involvement of prison officials in the operation. The director of the penitentiary in Pedro Juan Caballero, near the Brazilian border, was fired along with six other prison officials.
