Sundar Pichai calls for ’proportionate approach’ to AI regulation

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet, has urged regulators to take a ’proportionate approach’ when drafting rules for artificial intelligence (AI). ’Sensible regulation must also take a proportionate approach, balancing potential harms with social opportunities’, said Pichai. He also called for the need of tailoring rules according to different sectors.
