GDPR has led to $126 million in fines over data privacy

Over 160,000 data breach notifications have been made to authorities in the 18 months since Europe’s new digital privacy regulations GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) came into force. EU regulators have slapped businesses with an estimated $126 in fines for data leakage or crappy practices since GDPR was introduced. Most of the breaches came from the UK, Germany or the Netherlands.
