Pope condemns anti-semitism, says populism behind its ’barbaric’ resurgence

Pope Francis condemned the rise of populism and blamed it for the rise of anti-semitism across the world. The Pope termed the rise of anti-semitism ’barbaric’ and said that the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz should serve as a reminder to people to not become indifferent.

When did Populism become a bad word? It is the idea that the opinions of the ordinary people actually matter instead of just the opinions of the elite. Now obviously some ordinary people may have messed up beliefs but we should call those beliefs out and destroy their arguments. Suppressing ideas is about as effective as banning books.

What the pope failed to address is the role it took moving nazis into South America.... They gave safe passage to many into Argentina n Bolivia.. When third Reich collapsed

The unfortunate thing is that Antisemitism is historically more the rule rather than the exception. We had a good century but apparently the good times are coming to an end.
