Panic button specially tailored for dating created by Tinder

New features have been announced by Tinder which will be rolled out to help users protect both on and off the platform. A kind of ’panic button’ will be released for real-world meet-ups. The tool will be available for users soon on the Tinder application.

App tells your friends where the 'daters' are... so two things: 1. How do your friends tell the difference between consensual sex and rape? 2. Weird location based social media shit like this sounds like a precursor to an invasive society sort of depicted in The Feed or later seasons of Person of Interest.

This is simply brilliant. For now on if I think someone might sexually assault me, or if the date's not going as I wanted, I'll hit that panic button. Thank-you Tinder for making the world a safer (PC) *cough* place.

Special technique for dating ... ask people out in person. Nah ? Well then expect to be deceived. Women and men. Vanity and ego. Keep feeding and damaging and yeah you can expect cat fishing, creeps, rapists and psychos.

depending on how it's programmed, this could be great. One of the best techniques for defending against a possible attack is to start live streaming and tell the assailant that they're on camera. Used this very technique when my roommate started getting beat up by our neighbor's drug dealer (yes it was as fucked up as it sounds) bitch immediate stopped and ran as soon as she could. 911 had already been called before the whole thing went down. that did not deter the psycho from trying to choke out my roommate. And even after it all the cops took another 20 minutes to show. Criminals aren't scared of a police force that shows up a half hour after the criminal is long gone. Panic buttons and things that contact friends and family or even better, the internet, are much more effective. I'm the first to tell people using online dating apps to suck it up and deal with the occasional crazy date, but having a safe way to get out of said crazy dates is still important. There are safe ways to meet people from the internet - some of my best friends were guys I met online back in college. To all those people who say "just go meet people in person derrr" we don't have social hangouts anymore, there are no soda shops and arcades, only bars, and I would much rather a friend meet someone sober on the internet than meet drunk tools in clubs.
