Walmart raises starting hourly wage to $12 in 500 stores, as part of a test

Walmart is testing a higher starting wage for certain newly created jobs in about 500 US stores for a more flexible model to manage the workflow. The company has raised starting hourly pay for team associates, a newly created role, to $12 from $11 in the earmarked stores. These workers will be trained to develop broader retail skills instead of only completing tasks given to them by managers.

This will result in layoffs and cut hours as we have seen in multiple other places and the Left will cheer it as a "victory".
