Canada is discussing further how to deal with online hate

Whether it be hateful attacks at a mosque in Quebec City or targeting women in Toronto, Shimon Koffler, President and CEO of the Center for Israel and Jewish Affairs in Canada states that the country should act before hate crimes proliferate. He cites nine recommendations of the Canadian House of Commons Standing Committee and Human Rights Justice on ways to combat the use of online hate.

Wonder what the article writer's opinion is on Transgenders defunding and vandalizing a women's rape shelter in Vancouver because they feel emboldened to engage in terrorism these days since the taste of political power infected them.

"Please government control what we can say and think we are too weak to think for ourselves." Keep walking blindly to an authoritarian dystopia. You think you're doing "the right thing" and that you have "good intentions"? Well I garranty you that every two bit tyrant and dictator that has existed thought the same of himself

Fortunately Canada is not the only one. The Belgian prime Minister has also come forward and is being proactive as well. https://www.brusselstimes.com/belgium/91442/racism-is-a-crime-belgian-pm-announces-action-plan-to-fight-online-hate-speech-sophie-wilmes-free-spech-online-comments-inciting-hate-xenophobia-racism-laws/ Also interestingly they are Developing AI to look at it and project 'Help Speech' back at it. This is a real plus to deal with it that way as it is not everyone's job to police it if they have an app, or social media site or platform. AI can react much quicker and is less likely to act out of bias, which a lot of rascist etc argue when actual people call them out on their horrific beliefs. AI could also be used to automatically score a user on their comments to indicate for others the type of content in a message before seeing it, if it was deemed offensive. Similar to the AI YouTube is using against climate denial, etc.
