As per a new research, American households waste, on average, almost a third of the food they acquire. The wasted food aggregates to an estimated value of $240 billion annually, translating to an average household cost of about $1,866 per year.
Not sure if this is true. Restaurants might do this but how are they sure most households do this? Their sample size was only 4000 households. Don't we have like eighty million people in the U.S?
Not at my house. Between my wife and mother-in-law hardly anything goes in the garbage pale. And the meals are great! In this respect I'm a pretty lucky guy.
