US Supreme Court allows Trump’s ’public charge’ immigration curb

The US Supreme Court green-lighted the administration to implement a rule denying legal permanent residency to certain immigrants deemed likely to require government assistance in the future. In a 5-4 ruling, the court approved the administration’s request to set aside a ruling by a judge blocking the ’public charge’ regulation while the merits of the case continue to be argued in lower courts.
