Chinese embassy demands apology for coronavirus cartoon

China’s embassy in Denmark has demanded an apology from the daily Jyllands-Posten over a satirical cartoon it ran about the deadly new coronavirus. The embassy has said that the cartoon ’offends human conscience’. Danish politicians have come in support of the paper, which in the past has published satirical drawings of the Prophet Mohammad that caused outrage across the Muslim world.

EVERYTHING hurts those Chinese feels. They are tender, sensitive souls who cannot face the harsh world outside of their borders. It's why they need an Authoritarian government to tell them what to do and how to feel.

China, you wanted an apology? Well here it is. China, I'm very, very, very sorry that you are an authoritarian, dictator state, that rapes, inprisons and murders its own people. I'm also sorry that in high school, you were voted the country most likely to commit ethnic cleansing, and not prettiest smile like you wanted.

China, don't you have more important things to be concerned about than a cartoon, in a newspaper, in a country on the other side of the world?

Gee wiz China lighten up, it's just a cartoon. And speaking of cartoons I think the cartoons in Larry Flynt's Hustler magazine are still the funniest and most outrageous.

" has crossed the bottom line of civilized society and the ethical boundary of free speech..." An image of the Chinese flag with viruses instead of stars is beneath a civilized society? That's what crosses the "ethical boundary" of free speech - whatever that means? This isn't even at the level of a schoolyard insult. I guarantee that the artist didn't even consider the idea that this could be offensive to a reasonable person in a free society.
