Police identify the man who saved baby from mass shooting at El Paso Walmart

The ’mystery hero’ seen on surveillance video rescuing a baby during the mass shooting at an El Paso-area Walmart that killed 22 people last August was identified as Lazaro Ponce, a then-homeless man who was living outside the store in a makeshift camp. Ponce said he helped the baby, a man in a wheelchair and an injured elderly woman. Ponce has since moved to Memphis, where he works as a laborer.

If they guy wanted recognition he would have stuck around. A guy like that wasn't looking for hero worship. Probably just wants to be left in peace.

And just what is the purpose and justification of this? If the guy didn't present himself, maybe he didn't want to get ID'd.
