McConnell says GOP lacks votes to block witnesses

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told Republican senators that he lacks the votes to block a Democratic request for witnesses at President Trump’s impeachment trial. A decision to call more witnesses would need 51 votes to pass. The Senate will vote Friday on whether to call witnesses.

There is no point to the witnesses except to derail the Shampeachment trial. They contribute nothing.

Only in hypocritical America could you have a trial, where the Republican leader of the Senate is cooperating with the accused and is coordinating and implementing their strategy, who has decided that no witnesses will be allowed. That's as fair and balanced is Fox News!
