Avast to shut down Jumpshot

British cybersecurity company Avast is shutting down its subsidiary Jumpshot. The move comes after a report showed that Avast sold collected user data to Jumpshot, which in turn sold data to other corporations. The company denied the allegations and began a review on Wednesday. Jumpshot’s closure will put hundreds of jobs at risk and deepen a slide in its shares.
