Amnesty report says governments in Asia are ’uprooting fundamental freedoms’

Amnesty International, in its annual report on the Asia-Pacific region said that governments across Asia are uprooting fundamental freedoms. This has sparked a wave of protests led by the youth who have reportedly taken a stand against ’escalating repression’. The report, which was released on January 30 said that governments in China, India and Pakistan are ’silencing dissent’.
