Oil jumps as WHO declares emergency but recommends no travel, trade restrictions

Oil prices jumped on Friday, as the WHO opposed travel and trade restrictions in declaring a global emergency over the spread of a coronavirus. Brent crude futures jumped $1.16 to $59.45 a barrel, after falling 2.5% the previous session. US West Texas Intermediate futures were up by $1.06 to $53.20 a barrel. Despite the rebound in prices, analysts remained cautious due to the spread of the virus.
