Should have been done a long time ago. Make it legal, tax it. Enforce safer practices to reduce sti's, abuse of women, child trafficking, etc that exist in the current sex industry.

you could make a full on business out of this. other countries that have it legalized require monthly checkups and verified health cards to prevent sti/D's. It could also create a new source of tax revenue (gov real concern). Not to mention the safety aspect of conducting business in a safe friendly environment. you eliminate pimps and all that mess that comes with or turn the pimps into businessmen that can contribute to society. it's porn without the camera lol. consulting adults should be able to do whatever the hell they wanna do in this regard. A person doesn't need to be lonely on the holidays or down and depressed because they are lacking the attention that makes them feel worthy of life anymore. countless pluses to this being legalized. I mean strip clubs are legal and so is porn why not full on brothels it's not like the politicians aren't already involved in this business anyways.

Decriminalized sex work works well enough in Australia. Prostitutes have lower STI rates than general single sexually active population.

I have a hard time separating my morality and politics on this one. Admittedly. What about women who are exploited into sex work? Addicted to drugs and sold for their debts? How would this effect that? Sex Trafficking is a serious problem in the US.

I feel like this is one of those things that, no matter how much we argue, or look at other countries, we will not really know how it will work (or at least what will happen) *here* untill we try. I might be detrimental to everyone involved, it might have every possible benefit and then some, we'll have to find out the hard way.
