Greta Thunberg seeks Africa climate change action

Teen activist Greta Thunberg has hosted a press conference to stress the importance of how climate change is affecting people in Africa. The event was organized in the Swedish capital, Stockholm, by Ms.Thunberg’s movement, which she started in August 2018. She wanted to use the media attention she attracted to focus on climate change in Africa as ’the African perspective is so under represented.’

Raise your hand if you want Greta to go push her "Sky is Falling" story in Wuhan, China. 🖐️

I see Africa nowhere on the list of developed countries for CO2 emissions or heat trapping gasses so I think it's safe to assume she's just in this for the outrage/attention and money.

Somehow I think this is more of a pitch about the 'western' countries giving Africans more money, instead of encouraging African countries to embrace carbon neutral ideals/products.

I constantly see people having a go at Greta for targeting nations that are at least publicly commited to tackling climate change. And I sort of agree, but most developed nations in "the West", still count for a large portion of fossil fuel use. But this has got to be a joke right? An area of predominantly AGRICULTURAL use, and virtually no industry. Yes. Africa has an impact on climate change. Sure. /s Guess we're pulling everything out of our arses now.

Africa needs sustainable, affordable and accessible energy. Developed nations denying other countries their industrial revolution is hypocrisy. And anyway, Carbon Dioxide isn't an issue. CO2 isn't a problem. Don't believe the lies.

At least she's finally moved on moved away from pointing her finger solely at the Western world. I doubt she'll get a lot of traction on Africa.
