Chinese markets plunge amid virus fears

The Chinese market plummeted more than 7% on Monday as the markets opened following an extended holiday amid an ongoing coronavirus outbreak. The Shanghai composite fell 7.72% to close at about 2,746.61 while the Shenzhen component dropped 8.45% to end its trading day about 9,779.67. The People’s Bank of China announced Sunday that it will inject 1.2 trillion yuan worth of liquidity.
