Republicans ask Trump to shun impeachment in SOTU

Republicans have asked Trump to avoid discussions of impeachment during state of the union address. Trump was impeached in December on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. ’We’re not done tomorrow and I don’t think it’s appropriate for him to bring it up,’ added Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.). ’He is his own person, obviously he can bring up things as he chooses to. ’

HaHa! Butthurt Leftists and Democrats did this to themselves and now try to blame everyone else for their own abject failures. Just like Hillary.

You only make an apology if you've done wrong. It's the Dems who should be apologizing to the public for wasting our time and not taking care of their country. As for Clinton, I also thought that impeachment was a farce. Both parties are guilty of using political affiliation to go after the other.

Trump was always going to be acquitted. All the Democratic Party has accomplished is improve Trump's re-election chances.

We didn't do a good job of impeachment, so we didn't actually prove deed, motive, intent, or corruption, and thus we lost. TEAR UP THE CONSTITUTION! The Framers never expected this! We demand a recount!

The biggest issue with the impeachment articles is they were too vague and week. For some reason they hung their hats on a phone call that goes against the proxy wars that benefit Adam Shift and many other state officials. Now before anyone says what benefit its the campaign donations or "bribes" as what we the masses know they are. Rep Shift personally accepts thousands if not millions of "donation" dollars for his campaign from the military industrial complex. He also has been positioning himself to be either a lobbyist or other lucrative position at one of the war industry companies once he leaves public service. He and other coorporate dems are just against the anti-war stance of Trump as the GOP. This entire thing was just to shut people up about why nothing happened after Mueller testified that the obstruction documentation in his report was to be used at Congress' discretion. It was up to the house to decide if his findings were crimes for which the only sentence for a president is impeachment. I think they were embarrassed by the fact that they gave Trump and his people too much credit for actually intentionally colluding with Russia so instead of having to address that elephant in the room they let him stay even though the obstruction actions are crimes. The 2 articles of impeachment were ridiculous and even a first year law student could have established a lawful defence. I dont have a law degree and I really dont like Trump, but these establishment Dems and Republicans need to take a long hard look at what they fight for and who they fight for. Cause it sure is not the majority of Americans.

The American voters are the biggest victims in this.... N in the end will be the judge.... Of those politicians. Complicit in any scheme on either side...

Solution is simple. Impeachment isn't a trial now, it never has been. It is the House asking for the majority of people to remove the President before their term. The Senate must then confirm that 2/3rds of States agree. Simple. No reason need be given.

Awesome. Great. Now Republicans, don't screw this up. Investigate the Democrat's corruption. They've led the American people on a wild goose chase for the entirety of Trump's presidency, and they'll keep doing it if you let them off the hook. If the government gets to dip its hands in my pocket for a chunk of my earnings, at least put it to good use. Not Russian conspiracies and foreign-policy "scandals".

Opinion pieces aren’t news. I want to report the Vox story but there’s no option to report it as an opinion piece, and not actual news.

American politics was convicted the second Democrats turned impeachment into a partisan tantrum because they lost an election.

I'm so sick of this impeachment. Everywhere, every radio station I turn on, every news commentatary, every interview with every person, every single fucking nanosecond is packed to the brim with this impeachment nonsense. It played Adam Schiff pontificating some shit on the TV in the waiting room at the health department earlier today. I will be so glad when this is over, it's like an information assault.

This app is a cesspool and has lost its way. Leaving any forum open to public manipulation means the first faction to overtake it wins. I commend the developers for their vision, but their execution of it failed miserably. What they obviously didn't realize was that right-wingers are far more likely to engage with alternative news apps (not sources, but apps) and forums that allow unfiltered comments. This also turns off open-minded people who want to engage in serious discussion and debate. And finally, once a faction overtakes an app like this the stories that get the most attention are the ones that best fit their worldview. The stories aren't fake and are featured in all types of media, but it's like comparing the headlines of the New York Post and the New York Times... both are real news, but they're presented differently and in different order. I'd rather see an app that presents all news stories in chronological order and without bias... and commenting users should automatically earn points for credibility and intellect, not "upvotes" from like-minded users.
