University of Utah athlete arrested for kidnapping, raping teen

A University of Utah football player was arrested Thursday after cops said he kidnapped and raped a 17-year-old girl. The victim told police she met Terrell Perriman on Instagram. She alleges Perriman sent her sexually graphic videos and photos. As per her statement, she then went to Perriman’s apartment, where he forced himself on her. Perriman faces felony charges of kidnapping, rape.

No means no -- we're all clear on that. But he sent her sexually explicit images and still she went to his apartment. Did she think they were going to do some scrap booking?

Wait so he sends her sexually explicit materials and THEN she goes to his apartment? I'm supposed to believe she didn't go there with the knowledge it was sexual in nature? and then I'm supposed to be outraged when it became sexual. I don't really understand this one. It will be interesting to hear the evidence that is presented during trial. There has to be something abnormal that happened after she arrived. Maybe he beat her and tied her up or something, but if she is claiming she was just going over to hang out or something I'm just not buying that bs.

That cop is correct.... Behaviour like this is never a once off, there are bound to be more victims... Policing are asking any young aspiring black pro footballers to come forward if they have been victimised

The only crime I can see as logical here is statutory rape since she was under 18 and the relationship didn't predate him becoming 18. Other than that, she damn well knew that things would turn sexual when she went to his house AFTER he sent her sexually explicit messages. I'm sceptical he even sent her explicit texts or that he even touched her because of how suspicious her story is. Overall, this just reminds me of that story from a few years ago where the girl lied about the guy raping her to get sympathy and attention from her crush.

I don't believe her. We should wait for the evidence.

there's a lot of people here that seemingly don't understand what the word "rape" or "nuance" means. It's lokely that at first, she was attracted to him, and they exchanged sexually graphic content, as teens do. it's implied in the article however that they'd not met before, let alone in a sexual setting. When she came over, maybe with the expectation of a sort of regular guy (despite the videos), she was shocked to find him forceful and not how she expected. No matter the fact that she went to him, as soon as she wants to leave and refuses sex, he's a rapist for forcing himself on her. You can victim-blame all day long, but there could be a million reasons for her to go to that apartment, and getting raped is likely not one of them.

Yikes, the amount of people victim blaming is sad. Why is it in any rape case where it is obvious what happened there is trash in the world that always goes to assuming it’s the girls fault

Well it was bound to happen sooner or later. One of these asshat gangster rapist types really was “Enrolling In College In The Spring” I guess if you declare it often enough sooner or later it’s a bound to come true😂 PS I understand he was turning his life around.
