Facebook gives parents more control over Messenger Kids

Facebook plans to add new tools and features for parental control in its messaging app for users under the age of 13. The new features will include access for parents to see their children’s chat history and will allow them to keep a track of the accounts which are blocked or unblocked. Parents can also see the most recent photos or videos sent and received in the app’s inbox.

I'm actually somewhat for this. It's for kids so why not, they don't need absolute freedom. Theres a number of kids being catfished on sites like this, so parents being able to check their kids messages is good.

Sounds orwellian, I can imagine how this could be considered abuse if used on anyone over 13
