Ikea announces first big UK store closure

Swedish retailer Ikea is shutting down one of its large UK stores for the first time since it began trading in the country 33 years ago. The site in Coventry city centre, which opened in 2007, will close with the loss of 352 jobs. Ikea cited significant ’operating costs of the store’ and a ’changing behavior of customers’ as a reason for the shutdown.
