Rising populism stoking homophobia across Europe, claims activist group

An advocacy group has said homophobic and transphobic rhetoric and other anti-LGBT+ hate crimes are rising across Europe, fuelled by divisive politics and socially conservative groups. As per a report by the ILGA-Europe group, hate speech by political and religious leaders increased in 17 countries. Homophobic violence also rose across the region.

Of course they're rising. We've let millions of a certain ideology of peace in, that mandates the death penalty for homosexuals. But, of course, let's blame it on 'populism' instead.

Well, you wanted equality, didn't you? Get ready to be treated equally as shitty as straight people treat each other on a regular basis. You gaining social legitimacy for your love of buttsex/finger blasting doesn't change the fact that a lot of humans are awful people. The solution? Do what the rest of us do: go about your lives and make the best of what you have, and be thankful you don't live in a majority Islamic nation...yet.

It's not populism.

When you force an ideology onto people that those people disagree with there is going to be pushback. I don't agree with assaulting anyone but I also don't agree with homosexuality and transgenderism as lifestyles and I know I am not alone in that. If you want to something fine but that doesn't mean I have to approve of it.

Didn't Europe basically open their doors to all the refugees. did they not account for the fact that in those places that the refugees came from punish homosexuality as a crime

Ummm. These are two completely unrelated ideas. Homophobia is not relegated to specific political ideologies. This is an obvious smear campaign. Just because populism is on the rise and potentially homophobia is on the rise (I'm not positive the evidence is clear enough on that) does not mean the two are causally linked.

The term "phobia" means "An irrational fear or hatred of something". If you disagree with something or oppose it being pushed into the public square, that is NOT a phobia. This bullshit abuse of the language to stigmatize the good people and advance the freaks is wearing thin.

Then get back in the closet. The women are also being assaulted in these countries thanks to "refugees"...

you know hate crime is a BS concept when you have transsexuals and gays being charged with "hate crimes" for disagreeing with LGBT's increasingly ridiculous positions. intersectionality is cancer!

'claims'. sounds like fear mongering. the only growing homophobia in Europe is from Islamic immigrants. populists are the only ones willing to even try to save you from that. geert, matteo, viktor, marine, and Nigel are the only hope for Europeans.
