2,000 evacuated as first ever red weather warning issued in New Zealand

Some parts of South Island, located in New Zealand have been cut off from the country after roads were washed away due to torrential rains. Nearly 2,000 people had to be evacuated, and the MetService of New Zealand issued the first ever red weather warning of the country.

Yeah, it's strange our summer has gone from cold to extremely hot in a matter of days sometimes. As well as the amount of rain we have been getting, which is immediately lost with the heat that comes the next day.
