UK reconsiders plan to fly flags on Prince Andrew’s birthday

The British government is reviewing the policy of raising national flags atop town halls on royal birthdays, after some officials raised objections at flying the Union Jack for scandal-hit Prince Andrew’s 60th birthday on Feb. 19. Andrew withdrew from public life and royal duties after a television interview defending his friendship with the late US sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
