Maybe a 2/3 or 3/4 majority required in the House for impeachment? We don't want to make it impossible, but the impeachment step is far too easy in today's political climate.

Seems like a good idea to keep it from being weaponized again.

Perhaps a little on the late side, but a great idea nonetheless.

Bipartisan support LOL. Stop living in the past, the Republican party of the 80s is loooooong gone. The tea party paved the way to a cultist following which clearly wont break party lines.

Maybe the threshold should be evidence based? Otherwise very corrupt things could be passed over depending on who has the majority.

Make bipartisan support mandatory. And a preemptive vote to proceed by both House AND Senate after discovery amd initial witnesses are heard.

Not necessary. Just look at past cases, especially the 1809(I believe) case where the ink was still relatively fresh on the Constitution and the transcript is clear on the high bar that must be met. This baseless impeachment was handled correctly and thrown out. If a process preforms properly why mess with it? You don't want to interfere with future ability to reign in real corruption from the executive branch.

Fine. let's talk. All witnesses called must show and testify no Executive Privilege. It is easy to criticize the investigation when it was resisted from the beginning. The House needs to move quickly to gather evidence pro or con. House is the DA. There is no threshold to move to trial in the Senate. The Senate is the Judge and Jury. it is all political. In order to remove the politics you need some other method not thresholds. What you need is process and procedures that are better defined. Congressional oversight is to severely limited in unknowns and assumed power n privilege. Oh and any threshold should have a threshold in kind to pass. you want ¾ of house to investigate the President, then get ¾ to match.
