Tencent calls inflated death toll screenshot from coronavirus fake

Chinese tech giant Tencent, best known for its messaging app WeChat, found itself at the center of a controversy after screenshots of the company’s ’Epidemic Situation Tracker’ (a coronavirus’s spread tracker) displayed a death toll almost 80 times higher than the official number. A spokesperson for Tencent said the screenshots were fake.

154.023 infected and 24.589 death. that is a death rate of 15.9% instead of 2% and means every sixt infected dies. Only if death are also counted as infected though. Otherwise the number is smaller as we have to calculate wirh 178.612 infected and 24.589 Death wich would mean roughly 1/7 dies (14.444%).

I'm getting a weird feeling that the high numbers were faked. This whole "the numbers are higher" has an astroturfed feeling to it... It doesnt really make much sense because the situation is already bad, why lie and make it like 'less bad'. Thats like lying about an autopsy of a beheaded person saying oh no there head is only half torn off. Doesn't make any sense.
