Four endangered gorillas killed by lightning strike

Four rare mountain gorillas have died in Uganda after being hit by lightning. Three adult females and a male infant were found in Uganda’s Mgahinga National Park with ’lesions’ on their bodies indicating electrocution, a conversation group said. There are just over 1,000 mountain gorillas in existence and the species is restricted to protected areas in the Congo, Rwanda and Uganda.
