Novel coronavirus case numbers ’stabilising’ in China: WHO

The number of cases of the coronavirus being reported daily in China is ’stabilizing’, the WHO said. ’We’re in a four-day stable period where the number of reported cases hasn’t advanced. That’s good news and may reflect the impact of the control measures that have been put in place,’ a WHO official said before cautioning that it was too early to predict whether the virus might have peaked.

"stabilize" my ass. the numbers are still in the thousands. if the numbers were below 500 a day then you can start claiming things are stabilizing.
