Vatican warns US bishops against rebuking Catholic politicians

The head of the Vatican’s doctrine office has warned US bishops to deliberate carefully before proceeding with a possible plan to rebuke Roman Catholic politicians for receiving Communion even though they support abortion rights. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops will convene for a national meeting June 16, with plans to vote on drafting a document on the Communion issue.

Compromise your religion for the sake of politics? Unfortunate. Next we'll get a message from the Pope, "you know, the Trinity is really not that important."

Catholic believers seem to follow their religion better than the leaders. When you put politics above the church, you become the antithesis of Christ's teachings. Not that this is the first time they've done so.

There's no point being a Catholic if you aren't going to follow their doctrine.

Abortion isn't mentioned in the Bible, except of course in Numbers, where God outlines a procedure where a Man, if he thought his wife had cheated on him and conceived a child, should bring her to a priest who would force her to drink a potion which would cause a miscarriage if she was an adulter. So abortion is bad unless God does it I guess.
