ALL Citizens should enjoy the exact same rights. When it comes to government, Citizens should not be labeled, male or female, gay or straight, old or young, only Citizen. Laws should apply to all citizens in an equal fashion, anything else simply attempts to elevate a certain class above others.

Second time asking this question: what would actually change if this (expired) thing gets passed/archived/whatever it is they are asking for???

That summary is horribly incorrect. There IS a time limit on the amendment, defined in HJ Res 208, setting an expiration date of 1979. This was theoretically extended to 1982 by HJ Res 638, which was signed by president Carter. But even if that was accepted as legitimate it still expired by 1982. ERA is dead. Good riddance.

True, equal rights for women? In our constitution? This issue being brought up while Trump is in office presiding over a Mitch McConnell senate, with hundreds of ultra conservatives on the federal bench? ha ha ha ha ha ha ha... um... better wait a bit on that proposal... sharia law, in respect to the rights of women, is the law of Republican America.
