Whistleblower complaint about DOJ grant to ’Hookers For Jesus’

A whistleblower complained about the DOJ anti-human trafficking grant program after two nonprofits were denied funding in favor of two groups ranked lower by outside evaluators. $1 million was granted to Hookers for Jesus & Lincoln Tubman Foundation, in place of the originally recommended groups. The change was made stating a need to ’distribute funding across as many states as possible’.

I'm guessing the complainers never looked past the name. They're a group of former sex trafficking victims that help current victims escape and rehabilitate back into a normal life. Sounds worthy of funding to me. And they're probably not skimming most of it, unlike the big organizations.
