Senate passes resolution limiting Trump’s power to order strikes against Iran

The Senate voted to pass a resolution limiting the president’s power to order military strikes against Iran without the approval of Congress. Eight Republicans joined Democrats to pass the resolution by 55-45. The resolution requires Trump to remove troops who are engaged in hostilities with Iran unless Congress declares war or passes a resolution allowing it. Trump is expected to veto the bill.

Ending the "War On Terror" and putting the Patriot Act to death would be good. Then, revise the War Powers Act to restrict boots on the ground to require a declaration of war. Finally, make "nation building" illegal. The goal of war should be to defend our nation, not to revise the map for global power brokers.
