UK finance minister Sajid Javid resigns

British finance minister Sajid Javid has resigned from his position, becoming the shortest serving UK finance chief since 1970. Javid served as finance minister since July 2019, when Boris Johnson was first appointed prime minister. Reports suggest Javid was offered the chance to remain finance minister on the condition that he fires all of his advisors, which he refused, opting to resign instead.
