Tesla announces $2 billion stock sale

Tesla announced plans to raise $2 billion in a stock offering. The company said it would offer 2.65 million shares, of which CEO Musk will buy up to $10 million in shares, while board member Larry Ellison will purchase up to $1 million worth of shares. Analysts noted that decision to raise money will come as a surprise to some following Musk’s previous comments suggesting no need to raise money.
