Indonesia’s Mount Merapi volcano erupts sending ash 2 kilometers into the air

Indonesia’s Mount Merapi, one of the world’s most active volcanoes, erupted Thursday lava streamed down from the crater and sent grey ash two kilometers into the air. Aircraft were warned away from the area. No one was reported killed. Mount Merapi’s last major eruption in 2010 killed more than 300 people and forced the evacuation of 280,000 residents.
