Zuckerberg accepts Facebook may pay more tax outside US

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has accepted that global tax reforms mean the company may have to pay more taxes outside of the US. ’I understand that there’s frustration about how tech companies are taxed in Europe. We also want tax reform and I’m glad the OECD is looking at this’, Zuckerberg is expected to say in a speech at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday.

Zuck sees the writing on the wall. He knows he needs to make the right moves now to come out of the other side of this in good shape. Hence why they are rolling back many of their censorious policies and are marketing themselves as more of a platform for free expression. This just follows that pattern: accepting higher taxes now helps present the face of "We understand we've grown and probably went a bit too far, and we will adjust to do the right thing going forward." A bold strategy, but I think it might pay off.

I love how the BBC spun this as "Zuck is happy about paying more taxes." Nobody wants to pay more taxes but they have to try and keep brainwashing their readers.
