I see lots of excessively extreme solutions from the left, and basically nothing from the right on this thread and in general in terms of solutions. Here's an idea: how about we teach our children safe gun use in schools and at home? You can easily teach all American children basic gun safety even at primary and pre School ages, so why isn't the left pushing for better firearm education for young Americans? That would save plenty of lives. You don't even need to teach a kid to use it, just teach things like: Don't look down the barrel. Don't point one at anyone ever. Don't pick one up without adult supervision. Finger off the trigger at all times. We teach kids kitchen safety and outdoor safety and stranger safety, so why not firearm safety?

Owner of firearn should be held accountable. If you arent using it, store it safely. Gun people are the biggest advocates for gun safety, whoever owned this one was ignorant and irresponsible.

A perfect example of why gun owners should be held legally accountable, and financially liable for the reasonably secure storage of their guns 100% of the time, without exception. Gun owners need to be held to account for their irresponsibility, and it needs to be mandatory nationwide. High home robbery area and you leave loaded in an unlocked bedstand draw, while you are at work, it gets stolen and used to shoot up a home you pay. Same scenario but your bedroom draw is in the middle of a 10,000 acer farm ya don't pay.
