Russian agents spotted inspecting undersea internet cables in Ireland

Irish security services claim that agents of the GRU, Russia’s primary foreign intelligence division, were sent to Ireland to check for weak points in undersea fiber-optic cables connecting North America to Europe and the rest of the world, raising concerns that Russia may be planning to tap the lines to intercept transmissions, or cut them and deny entire countries internet access.
