Merck’s Ebola vaccine Ervebo available in four African countries

Merck (MSD) has received approval from four African countries, including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, Ghana and Zambia, for its Ervebo vaccine to prevent disease caused by Zaire ebolavirus. Additional countries in the continent are expected to register the vaccine in the coming weeks. Preliminary study results of the vaccine have shown it is nearly 98% effective.
