India’s top court orders equal rights to women in army

India’s Supreme court has ordered the government to grant permanent commission and command positions to female officers in army on par with men. The judgment allows women to be eligible for the same promotions, ranks, benefits and pensions as their male counterparts. Currently, women are inducted into the army through short service commissions, which only permit them to serve for 10 to 14 years.

Unpopular opinion: women should not be allowed to serve in ground roles. Engineering, leadership? If you're good at what you do, go ahead! But those with boots on the ground need to be at the peak of physical condition. There's a reason there are no woman Navy SEALS.
