Kickstarter workers vote to unionize

Kickstarter employees voted to unionize on Tuesday. The workers voted to unionize by a margin of 46 to 37 in an election held by the National Labor Relations Board. The workers will be affiliated with a chapter of the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU). This comes after several months of conflict between the company and its workers.

Unions created the middle class in the USA. The union middle class grew complacent and comfortable, thinking the struggle was over. New industries popped up but the drive to organize the workers wained. As membership declined over the last four decades wages have remained flat, paychecks eaten away by inflation, income disparity has grown, benefits once a standard chipped away at, now being tethered to your job while not on the clock and not compensated is expected. Workers are over it and unions are growing again, but there is a lot of catching up to do. I know a lot of tech workers, some are treated great, and some are asked to do ridiculous things and treated like sub-human droids.
