NY school apologizes for ’racist’ runway show

A NYC-based fashion college, The Fashion Institute of Technology, has apologized after a ramp show was labelled racist. Models were asked to wear prosthetic ears, lips and bushy eyebrows for the collection. The criticism came from an African-American model who refused to put on what she called ’clearly racist’ items. The institute has said an investigation is ongoing.
