UCLA shelves plan to use facial recognition technology

A UCLA vice chancellor, wrote a letter to the digital rights group Fight for the Future on Wednesday, February 18, announcing the school’s decision to stop using facial recognition. The school had been considering using the technology for restricted areas on campus to identify people with exclusion orders. Fight for the Future said most students opposed the use.
