boo hoo the detention center wasn't up to standard for the criminals. Remind me why they came here again? Oh right to escape their shithole country and mooch off our system and hardworking taxpayers.

So many ignorant comments on this thread asking ‘if detention centers are so bad why don’t they go back to their country?’ Why not? Same reason your ancestors came to America ! To pursue a better life for themselves and their families! Do you think they travel thousands of miles with vulnerable children through unfamiliar lands literally risking their lives because it seems kinda fun? Luckily, the majority of Americans have no idea of the the threats and hopelessness these people faced before reaching a breaking point and essentially saying ‘my home country is such a threat to my family that we must abandon what little we have, trek hundreds or thousands of miles to a place that may or may not accept us while facing unimaginable threats along the journey.’ I’m glad there are so many valiant keyboard warriors here to offer such well thought out suggestions such as ‘stay in your country and do not attempt to make a better life for yourself or your family.’ So American, so honorable, so thoughtful, so passionate. I’d love for these keyboard warriors to explain their thoughts on immigration to their ancestors that initially immigrated here. To ask them why they didn’t stay home.

The "presence" of inhumane and unsanitary conditions? What does that even mean? That wording reminds me of an episode of King of the Hill where they take a mold reading right next to Bill's feet in a scammer's house to get back at him.
