Researchers use AI to develop antibiotic to kill drug-resistant bacteria

A team of researchers from MIT has developed a new type of antibiotic that may work against antibiotic-resistant infections. As per the findings published in the journal Cell on Thursday, scientists trained a machine learning algorithm to analyze chemical compounds capable of fighting infections using different mechanisms than those of existing drugs.
