80% of arts staff feel those with ’controversial’ views risk ostracism

ArtsProfessional’s Freedom of Expression survey reveals gagging orders, bullying and a culture of fear are causing arts and cultural workers to stay silent. The anonymous survey of 500 workers in the arts and cultural sector revealed a whopping 80% felt that those who share controversial opinions ’risk being professionally ostracised’.

It’s all over the world. In the US, school teachers must spout left-wing views all the time or they are fired, for example. Administration finds formerly award-winning teachers to be suddenly derelict in their duties if their opinions vary from the “progressive” agenda. Cancel culture is strong.
