Six people, including three children, have been killed in a head-on collision on Interstate 95 in Georgia early Sunday. A 77-year-old man, driving alone in a Lexus SUV, crashed head-on into another SUV while driving south in a northbound lane. A Virginia woman was driving her family in the second SUV. All six people involved in the crash were killed.

Did the 77 year old fall asleep while driving? Isn't it well established that elderly people are more susceptible to falling asleep while driving? Shouldn't the elderly be taking bi-annual driver's check-ups to protect other drivers on the road? Is this a failure of our government being unable to protect its citizenry?
